November 20th, 2009 by Agenda Magazine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 16, 2009

(GLENDALE, CA) – The fashion industry is coming to Glendale Galleria. Local Collection, the newest retailer to debut, will showcase apparel, accessories, jewelry and home décor from today’s emerging “local” Los Angeles designers. Opening on November 13th in Glendale Galleria, adjacent to Nordstrom, Local Collection is a unique retail consignment boutique introducing the eclectic works of such fashion trendsetters to mainstream consumers.

Inspiring an amazing mix of apparel, accessories, jewelry, home décor and furniture, Local Collection enables a one-of-a-kind opportunity for these local fashionistas to promote and establish their new brands. The strategy behind Local Collection is to offer designs that are not mass-produced. Local Collection is a first time collaboration between local designers and a regional shopping center. The goal of the store is to provide a refreshing retail alternative with an evolving mix of designs and products that engage and invite interaction.

“Local Collection provides designers a chance to shine and start a retail business without the up front costs of owning their own store” says Janet LaFevre, Senior Marketing Director at Glendale Galleria.

More than 30 designers will be showcased including Baby Rab (Hollywood-style baby apparel), Sweet Evie (bold, one-of-a-kind accessories), Chameleon Apparel (unique tees for women, men and kids), The Cozy Farmhouse (beautiful handmade hair accessories), Beata Dirycz (high fashion pieces for women), SBG Designs (fashion jewelry), London Manori (cutting edge luxury jewelry), Graf and Lantz (luxury 100% merino wool fashion and home décor), Ele Keats (timeless jewelry with celebrity following), just to name a few. Many of these designers have been featured in the acclaimed fashion industry newspaper Women’s Wear Daily and in some of the major fashion publications like Lucky Magazine.

With 250 of the country’s top specialty stores and four major department stores, Glendale Galleria is a premier and brand name shopping destination in the Los Angeles area. Anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s, JCPenney and Target, Glendale Galleria houses an eclectic mix of boutique stores and one-of-a-kind shops including LEGO, Coach, Apple, Charles David, Boss Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Aveda, bebe, Lucky Brand Jeans, MAC Cosmetics, Banana Republic, Marc Ecko Cut & Sew, Ann Taylor, Sephora and Williams-Sonoma Grand Cuisine.
