Ina Soltani – Fall 2012 Collection Staying True to Leather but Bringing Red Carpet ReadinessBy Eveline Morel | August 16th, 2012 | Category: Articles, Interviews and Reviews, Backstage & First Looks, Fashion, Runway | No Comments »
At Vibiana during Style Fashion Week this Bosnian-born designer and FIDM graduate has definitely embraced the glitz and glamour of L.A., here in her new hometown. Ina Soltani is still loyal to leather, as seen by the body-conscious shift dresses, fitted pants, halter tops, and jackets in black, orange, white, and metallic leathers. With these looks come textural and hardware accents. A leather romper, with its braided bodice and gathered tulip silhouette, brings a playful, albeit discordant note with the slick glamour of the rest of the collection. A small satin group in jewel tones, adds some color and softness with the final two chiffon dresses in red and royal blue with large rhinestone accents add the required red-carpet-ready long gowns.
Catering to the leggy, confident twenty-something’s who move about town to see and be seen, Soltani’s third collection continues the vibe of her previous two seasons. She changes it up a bit with shorter pieces, cleaner lines, an overall greater coherence, and an air of maturity.
