The evening’s full-on, multidimensional production is one we still talk about to this day—about a month later. For those who have not attended a Project Ethos event, consider it the beautiful, collision site of fashion, art, and music. It is also the epicenter of inspiration for fashion professionals, including myself.

Project Ethos—the reputable production company that consistently creates unique experiences for all participants and attendees—did not disappoint that evening. Choosing the House of Blues venue to do what it does best, “showcasing fashion, music, and art all under one roof, on one night,” Project Ethos put on a fun-filled night that merged a live concert, fashion show, and art gallery for one big event.

March 14, 2011, at the “Unmasked” was a spectacular Masquerade Ball and runway presentation for the Fall Winter 2011 Black Label collection, at the private venue of Castle Antiques Warehouse and Showroom. LA’s hippest were in attendance, including the bevy of bloggers, publishers, and local celebrities.

For the kickoff of LA Fashion Week on March 12, 2011, Project Ethos at the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood was the place to be. Aside from the intimidating long line, which literally wrapped around the building with guests and press clamoring to get in, one could feel the buzz of electricity emanating, anticipating the upcoming shows that evening. Red carpet arrivals were busy posing for media, and the fashion portion of the show was backstage, preparing for the emerging designers’ debut of their collections.

What used to be called “P.T. Barnum’s Great Traveling Museum, Menagerie, Caravan, and Hippodrome,” and the moniker “Greatest Show on Earth” was added later; it is now known as Ringling Bros. And Barnum and Bailey.

I’ve always loved to watch the Academy Awards, whether I’m doing it with a big group like I did at the Hyatt Hotel in Century City last year or just in my den with my dog and a big screen TV. Either way, the experience is always the same for me: hopeful and engaged. This year’s Oscars was very entertaining. It seemed to flow better than past shows.

On The Daily Buzz, “Hot Topics” segment Eugene Hernandez hosted Thompson on Hollywood’s Ann Thompson, Movie City News’ David Poland, MPRM Co-Founder and Co-President Mark Pogachevsky and others who expounded on the sentiment that “we’ve become Twitter-ized,” with Pogachevsky commenting that “we don’t have the kind of depth of thought and conversation” that existed in the past.”

There’s a lot to be said for free “stuff!” From my observations, people are really inclined to make an appearance if they’re promised a loaded swag bag. I used to suffer from that affliction until my office storage room began to overflow—that being one of the main reasons I personally stopped attending gifting suites.
