Hollywood and fashion, from present and bygone eras, all came together for one night at Raleigh Studios as costume designer Greg Lavoi debuted his Fall/Winter 2013 collection for the House of Irene.
She’s the woman behind the famous back-to-back female silhouettes. The woman behind the destination boutique on Robertson that attracted chic shoppers. The woman who survived both personal and professional tragedy. And the woman who recently gave birth to (virtual) twins.

“As a visual artist I can translate my creativity and carry it over to many other art forms. I can draw. I can paint. I can design furniture, landscapes, environments, interiors; design jewelry, shoes, handbags, and hats. I do my own styling for all my photo shoots as well as my fashion shows. So I can do it all. I’m also not a bad chef. And that’s the great joy of being a creative artist. When I come into my temple of beauty, it’s playtime.” –Fashion Designer and Renaissance Woman Sue Wong
Held at Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles during Style Fashion Week LA Fall 2013, Go Red for Women was an event to be remembered, and a genuine cause célèbre.
At Pier 57 on February 8, 2013, in New York City, Sally LaPointe showcased her Fall 2013 collection. The diversity of the pieces were amazing. The color theme stayed safe with black, tan, white, rust, and splashes of red. Check out the Sally LaPointe Fall 2013 Runway, photographed by Arun Nevader.

With a special appearance by Aviva Drescher of Real Housewives of New York, designer Malan Breton’s show was one of the most tweeted during Fashion Week in New York; he really outdid himself with his latest collection. The line was dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, and while watching it, I really felt like I was witnessing an “old Hollywood” made-new tribute. The dresses were demure and sultry, just the way Marilyn Monroe wore them whenever she made a “dressy” formal appearance, or appeared on the red carpet.
Rolando Santana’s latest collection was inspired by the three-dimensional abstract creations of John Chamberlain. Known for his feminine dresses with uncomplicated silhouettes, designer Rolando Santana keeps up that standard and delights us with flirty accents. His textiles are enhanced by rare color details.
