Review: Cardio Barre – A Ballet Inspired Cardio Class Guaranteed to Trim and Slim

This issue we take time to introduce our readers to Cardio Barre of Beverly Hills. Alisa Rather is the proud owner of the 90211 location, not only the owner but loyal client, having lost 70 lbs herself through Cardio Barre. Dancer and choreographer Richard Gloria created Cardio Barre through the eye of his 25 years of classical training. The result of his inspiration was a national studio fitness workout that has spread like wildfire. Elegance of dance was harnessed into a fitness session that would make the largest of professional football players blush and scream for mercy. The unique and high energy exercise has no impact but rather focuses on elongation of the body, stretching and body resistance as its base tools. The room uses the barre system as you would expect in a dance studio for ballerinas and the class puts it to good use. The sequence of moves throughout the class are designed to tone, sculpt, elongate, and melt away fat. To get a better idea of just how Cardio Barre of Beverly Hills measured up, we sent in ISSA certified fitness trainer Angeles Casteran to enjoy some classes as a first time student. As a sincere fitness veteran, she was able to give us some honest insights.

“I haven’t had many good experiences participating in a group exercise . . . having two left feet and lack coordination. I went in feeling at least strong enough to do the exercises Cardio Barre had to offer, right? I mean we’re not lifting any heavy weights, so how hard could it be? Challenging was the word of the day, the good kind that pushes you and brings you back for more thought.” – Angeles

Keep in mind that Angeles is a very fit trainer, so if she was challenged, you can definitely expect to find value in your sessions and a trimmer figure in no time.

“Walking up Robertson Blvd, I enjoy the scenery of town, running across Cardio Barre studio along a row of chic boutiques. Walking in, I was immediately impressed with the studio’s layout, the cleanliness, and the genuine friendliness of the staff that were genuinely happy to have me there. I shared with the instructor Stacy that I was a little nervous, who reassured me that I would have no problem following along and that I would really enjoy it.

“I walked into class to find women of every shape, size, and age. Class started at 11:30 a.m. on the dot. Stacy walked in, introduced herself, and gave us a quick description of what to expect (which personally I really enjoyed). The music was on, and Stacy was leading the class in our warm up: ‘Here we go!’ Surprisingly it wasn’t that difficult to follow, and before I knew it, I was sweating up a storm. My legs, abs, and arms were burning, and I was having a blast. What a great workout! As she would get us started on movements, she would go around patiently correcting those of us that weren’t quite in the right position. After she cooled us down and wrapped up the class, she stuck around after, giving many of us words of encouragement.

“All and all I really enjoyed the class. Cardio Barre turned out to be a great workout. I think it can fit almost anyone’s fitness level. Go at your own pace, and in no time you will look and feel like a veteran. I can’t wait for my next class!” –Angeles

Our trainer loved the class and came back reporting nothing but thumbs up as she held her sore abs. Cardio Barre of Beverly Hills gets gold stars all around from the Agenda Fitness team. This workout merits your attention if you are looking for an effective fat-melting fitness routine with zero impact, a strong challenge, and fresh dancer’s flavor.
