Peacocks strut their stuff, and so did the models in their peacock-styled makeup and hair. (The models’ eyes were made up to look birdlike.) Do you think Hannant was trying to tell us something? Feathers are the trend of the season, and Hannant amply infuses them throughout this collection.

Literally the inspiration for the Fall 2010 collection came from images captured by the Hubble telescope. The galaxy inspired this season’s beading according to Mischka. Depending on when Badgley Mischka starting designing the collection, one might wonder if the designers had just seen the movie Star Trek. I only say this because of the way the models were styled; long pony tail hairstyles, a ton of metallic in varying pallettes with hues of silver.

As harsh as this may sound, alcohol is first and foremost a poison. The human body has no need for alcohol; so it gets its own category in terms of calories, digestion, and effects on our body. So how does alcohol work once we drink it? Protein, carbohydrates, and fat can all be stored in our bodies, but alcohol cannot; so it takes priority in being dealt with when consumed over everything else, due to its harsh nature.

The Israeli Consulate presented Mode Israel at MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary, sponsoring seven designers and jewelers during Downtown LA Fashion Week.
