What a Delight – Douglas Hannant’s Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection Is a Peacock in Flight!

Peacocks strut their stuff, and so did the models in their peacock-styled makeup and hair. (The models’ eyes were made up to look birdlike.) Do you think Hannant was trying to tell us something? Feathers are the trend of the season, and Hannant amply infuses them throughout this collection.

Badgley Mischka Ready-to-Wear Fall 2010 Collection

Literally the inspiration for the Fall 2010 collection came from images captured by the Hubble telescope. The galaxy inspired this season’s beading according to Mischka. Depending on when Badgley Mischka starting designing the collection, one might wonder if the designers had just seen the movie Star Trek. I only say this because of the way the models were styled; long pony tail hairstyles, a ton of metallic in varying pallettes with hues of silver.

EQUIVOCATION at the Geffen Playhouse

The story is told in modern dress, with the actors playing dual roles, and there is quite an assortment of them: the Shakespearean troupe at the Globe Theater; the characters they portray in the plays; the king and servants; and Shagspeare and his daughter, who we learn was ignored by her father because her beloved twin brother died instead of her.

Walk, Think, Breathe!

Walk, Think, Breathe!

Early mornings I walk, and as I walk, I think. As I think, I breathe. I look at my feet as they hit the ground and see rocks of varying colors, sizes, and shapes. I am careful to step over large boulders, and I walk carefully over soft sand. As I listen to the sound of my hiking boots hitting the ground, I find my mind wandering. Thoughts come and go, demanding to be heard. I struggle against them as I hear the sound of birds interrupting the constant drone of ideas coming in and fading out.

There Is Help for Those with Bi-Polar Disorder: What Is It and How Do You Diagnose It?

So what is bi-polar disorder? It is also known as a “manic-depressive” condition and causes a person to be severely depressed at times and extremely euphoric at others. Both men and women can suffer from bi-polar disorder, and it can hit at any age; but many people seem to start noticing the symptoms in their twenties, although teens have been diagnosed as well. It also appears that approximately 85% of people suffering from bi-polar have a family history of depression.
