The colorful history and folklore of the Philippines of Natori’s youth is what inspired her Spring 2013 RTW collection, which is filled with colorful prints, vivid crayon colors, and the models wore a vibrant flower in their hair to complement the look.

Zac Posen’s Fall 2012 Collection was definitively Eastern in its influence. The parade of gowns worn by recognized top models, were distinctly themed with embroidery, origami folds, and oriental draping.
Held at The Studio at Lincoln Center, Zang Toi’s Fall 2012 Runway “Glamour at GSTAAD” showcases luxurious fabrics and fine tailoring. Can you say “white for winter?” the collection started out in white and had long coats for men, cocktail dresses with fur etching, wide-legged pants, sweaters and coats with silver rhinestones.
During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, designer Mimi Plange showcased her collection entitled “Labrynth” at a 5th Avenue penthouse with breathtaking views. This private residence was the ideal setting for Plange’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. The elegant presentation boasted art installations, a classical violinist, and beautifully poised set design.
Held at the EYEBEAM Atelier in New York City, designer Rolando Santana recaptured the mood of the 70s by his variety of sequins, silk lamé, and modern embroideries.
Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. Spring 2012 was true to it’s brand at the presentation during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Stefani loves vibrant colors juxtaposed with prints.
Spring always brings with it lighter and brighter colors. Well, this Spring 2012 is no different when it comes to Diane Von Fustenberg’s new line; except that she presented a taste of old Hollywood, reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s style and hints of Givenchy 40 years ago with a bold set of prints, and I simply loved every piece!
Held at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher’s Hall, Made in Africa: Arise showcased Africa’s most talented designers. The show was spectacularly large, milking every bit of production value the venue had to offer.
