I got started modeling when I was six years old. I was in a campaign for a children’s bathing suit line called Coconut Water. While living in Hollywood our next-door neighbor was the owner of the Brazilian bathing suit line, Coconut Water. They asked my mother if it would be ok if I modeled for their line, and she said sure, just for fun. I remember being so nervous, but I soon really enjoyed it! My mom was a model for years, and always encouraged me to follow my dreams and pursue modeling if I wanted to.

Beautifully crafted swimsuits describes the Gottex Spring 2011 collection. With clear sporty visors (some draped with matching scarves), the models looked oh so fresh. The swimsuits were well-constructed in colors of pure white, vibrant tie-dyed indigo, blue, and mauve . . . reminiscent of corals in Fiji. Betsey Johnson presented her collection this season in a wild and crazy fashion. On the runway the colorful garments screamed circus meets navy with cheerleader fashion and vivid palettes.

Memphis is a simple story. A white high school dropout from the poor side of town, Huey has a deep love of black music. He ventures into an underground juke-joint, where he meets a girl. Felicia steals his heart and captivates his soul with her glorious voice. Unfortunately, she is “colored” and problems ensue.

Very well written and captivating from beginning to end, this novel has it all—sex, politics, exploitation under the guise of conservation . . . comedy (the limits and amounts of money Vin Haven and Walter go to to preserve the cerulean warbler) . . . tragedy . . .. Suspenseful to the very touching, heartwarming end!
