Did You Know that Weight Gain Is not Always Bad and Weight Loss Is not Always Good

Most of us these days love the idea of losing a few a pounds, but weight loss without exercise is not always a good thing.  Weight loss without the presence of exercise usually means that you are losing powerful fat burning muscle.  Every pound of lean muscle burns an extra 50 calories a day so if you lose 10 pounds of muscle that means you burn 350 calories less a day and a pound of fat less a week.  As you can see this is a bad weight loss scenario.  Focus on gaining muscle to lose the most weight and keep it off.  Imagine gaining 10 pounds of muscles, that would mean you burn an extra pound of fat a week doing nothing differently . . .  now that’s nice.  Remember that although muscle is three times heavier than fat, it is three times smaller so gaining muscles will actually shrink.  No need to fear that you will get too big if that’s not what you want.
