Mathieu Mirano Fall 2012 Presentation During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week NY

Mathieu Mirano showed in New York for the very first time at The Box at Lincoln Center last February.  His was a presentation full of Chinese inspirations and bold colors of red and shiny gold. Other colors, browns, blacks, and blues, were more muted in tone.  This ready-to-wear collection is perfect for the evening, containing mostly gowns of heavy fabrics and pieces with exaggerated tunics of gold accents and intricate appliqués.

Mirano created a compelling collection of emperor-like clothing through the use of black leather and dragon-scale embroideries, combined with silk chiffon and organza. His soft wools and furs had exposed zippers, claw studs, metal dragon heads and talons, creating a very raw intensity within his collection.  There was also a nice variety of dresses, coats, jackets, gowns, blouses, and pants with detailed fabric layering, just perfect for this new luxury brand.
