XCVI Fall 2012 – Not Your Average Mainstream, Casual Line

For a mainstream casual line distributed in many of the major retailers, most of the XCVI knits, jersey separates, and accessories had just enough of that little detail that managed to push them across the line from basic & boring to interesting.  The bohemian vibe that’s the trademark of XCVI was visible throughout the collection without being too hippie. While there’s not much to say about the nondescript pants and bottoms, there is a lot to say about the chiffon top with silver embroidery, the perforated knit pieces, and the multi-textured knit and jersey top—and the furry scarf just begged to come home with us. Overall it was a well-put-together show for a casual line that women of all ages can wear to the supermarket and still feel fashionable in. XCVI head designer Lilia M. Gorodnitski created an interesting Fall 2012 collection that was well-received at Vibiana during Style Fashion Week LA.
