For the fourth fabulous year, on Feb 7, Doris Bergman hosted a Pre-Valentine Oscar Gifting Suite at Café La Boheme to offer Hollywood Insiders and VIPs a chance for a sneak peak at some of the hottest new fashions, cosmetics, gourmet cuisine, sweets, and more.

The new production of RED HOT PATRIOT: The Kickass Wit of Molly Ivins plays at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles until February 19, 2012. This 75-minute show is an opportunity to spend an evening enjoying two incredible women.

The story takes place in a brothel amidst the chaos. The madam takes in young women to service the men on either side of the war, showing that it’s better to willingly give their bodies than live in the bushes or refugee camps.

Susan walked away from a $100,000 a year contract to work pro bono with cancer patients; she walked away from a million dollar divorce settlement and a starring role in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls; and she traveled to India to aid Mother Teresa and her nuns in their work with lepers. Susan’s journey in the fast lane of Hollywood drove her to realize that when the wheel stopped, it was only then that she found life’s greatest fortune!

The Emmys were ultra-exciting—but the excitement started even before the ultra-glamorous TV Awards Ceremony. All over Hollywood celebs, including Emmy-nominated actors, former Emmy winners, presenters, and industry VIPS, were invited to a series of Pre-Emmy Gifting Suites, where they were introduced to all kinds of terrific products, clothes, and accessories.

Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” an intimate collection of stories, opened at the Geffen’s Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater on May 11. Directed by Jenny Sullivan, it’s a series of vignettes, based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, along with personal stories and remembrances of the Ephrons and their friends. It features a cast of five rotating actresses.

The story is told in modern dress, with the actors playing dual roles, and there is quite an assortment of them: the Shakespearean troupe at the Globe Theater; the characters they portray in the plays; the king and servants; and Shagspeare and his daughter, who we learn was ignored by her father because her beloved twin brother died instead of her.
