From Russia to Hollywood, a Star Is Born – Anya Monzikova

Anya Monzikova was born in Vologda, Russia, to Natalia Monzikova, a single mother of two. When her mom met her step-dad, an American on a vacation to Moscow, fate had brought a new twist to this young girl’s life. Her mother re-married and the two moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, to live. At a young age, Anya loved to perform.

The beautiful and talented Peta Murgatroyd was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and raised in Perth, Western Australia. Currently in Los Angeles, Peta continues to dance and has embarked on a successful career in television on the wildly popular show, DANCING WITH THE STARS. Peta landed on Broadway in August of 2009, where she was the lead female dancer in the theatrical production of Burn the Floor.

Back in 2005 I was hired to shoot a few veteran skateboarders just before the premier of Lords of Dogtown was released. One of the guys knew of an amazing abandoned house right at the entrance to Beverly Hills. The backyard had a perfect vintage California style concrete pool.
