The veteran bassist first gave a demonstration to the participants then invited other bassists to jam with him upfront. The highlight of the evening was Richard Bona of Cameroon, a Grammy-winning jazz bassist, who joined Marcus Miller in a dynamic session, where the musicians took turns riffing off one another.

After the demonstration, Miller greeted and talked with the musicians at the seminar. Another well known bassist and colleague, Victor Wooten, was in the audience. After the demonstration, Miller greeted and talked with the musicians at the seminar.
